Methodology

Data collection

Listings come from dealer and seller inventory in the Southeast (North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida) and are refreshed regularly. We respect robots.txt, rate limits and access controls, and prefer direct inventory feeds from sellers. Each listing shows the date it was first seen and last verified, and listings that are no longer available are removed.

Normalization

Makes, models and categories are normalized so the same model listed under different spellings or category names is grouped together.

Duplicates

The same RV listed in more than one place is grouped by VIN when one is available, otherwise by make + model + year + length + state, and counted once.

Market statistics

Median, 25th and 75th percentile asking prices are computed over active, de-duplicated listings with a price. Model pages require at least 5 listings, category pages 10, state pages 8; smaller groups are not published to avoid misleading figures. Every statistic shows the date it was computed. Asking prices are not sale prices.

Comparables and deal score (0–100)

Comparables are RVs in the same category (Class A, Class B, Class C, campervan, travel trailer, fifth wheel, toy hauler) within ±2 model years and ±4 ft of length. We look in the listing’s own market first; if that gives fewer than 4 comparables we use all markets, and if there are still fewer than 4 we widen to ±3 model years. Listings without at least 4 comparables get no score. Sample listings are compared only with other samples. Deal score = 50 + 100 × weighted advantage over the comparables’ median. Motorhomes and campervans: 75% price, 20% mileage, 5% generator hours. Towables (travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers): 95% price, 5% generator hours. If a listing does not report a meter, that meter is left out and the remaining weights rescale. A score is a price-and-usage comparison only; it does not reflect condition, options or service history.
